Ada Milea, a nonconformist by profession

Ada was present at Suceava more than a year ago at Club '60 and she was brought by Radio Top '91. Now, it was the turn of the “Ana” Foundation and Promo Bucovina Image to invite her to the "No Limit" Club, a place where we also went for the first time, but we will go from now on because of the warm atmosphere that surrounds the club. This warmth was also felt by the Milea family (father and daughter) and by the 250 people present at the event who welcomed Ada with love and joy. The concert lasted for two hours and it was a real theatre show. After watching her closely, we finally realized what she does, by herself (in fact, her and her guitar): a monologue with different scenes ("her songs" last about 1 minute each) and interrupted by dialogues with the people present at her concert, all turning into a "happening", each time different, even if the songs are the same ("I’ll be damn if I’m not tired of themâ€ฆAren’t you?!", asked Ada during her show). No, Ada, we are not tired neither of them, nor of you, I’m answering now, because good music made for a good public can be endlessly listened to without boring some people that “got lost” at that event. Beyond her spontaneity and performance, there lies a lot of work: her voice is practiced and “worked” upon to the smallest details and her guitar is not a “stranger”. The proof is that even when she comes alone, like now (last time she came accompanied by, Radu Georgescu – if I’m not mistaken – who plays all sorts of instruments, from the violoncello to the violin and the flute and who even plays at a straw from the bar!) the effect she has on the public is the same every time: enthusiasm and total involvement and commitment. She told us, during the breaks of the songs, jokes from her tours (at the "exotic" embassy when she sang something about "four brothers / and only threeâ€ฆ" the ambaĂdor felt offended and started screaming that "we are four here, and moreover we are here with our wives, and we work for the country!"), she sang to us from the “real” theatre show that she will be holding in Bucharest with "Apolodor" together with other actors and musicians, she shouted like mad rockers a "hard song" ("Sa injectam slanina ฎn gaina") – an original heavy metal, – and we all sang her famous "Horror carols". To sum up, it was an unforgettable evening. Before the concert, Ada gave me an interview at "Radio As" in which she told me about her 9 year adventure (the contract lasted that long) in Canada, at "Cirque du soleil", adventure that ended afterâ€ฆ two months ("I was getting bored, I was just a little wheel from a mechanism, and I had to singâ€ฆ Angela Similea or something similar, with her "grace" too!"), she scratched on the wall from the radio an absolutely typical dedication ("Life is boring. It is good that it ends fast!"), then, at my place, we obviously talked about â€ฆ fishing trout and carps with her father, but Ada was also familiar to this subject. Once we got to "No Limit" we realized that everybody that had to be there was already present at the event: Sorin Dorneanu, with Stavros, Marius Suiu as cameraman (who was a victim a few times: once he got up from his chair, Ada – hop! – turned his camera to him or the public), other colleagues from "Monitorul" such as Alina Babeanu (who also held an exceptional concert), pupils and teachers from the "Stefan cel Mare" National College and many other art lovers, including Sandu Baisanu, the sub prefect, together with his sweet daughter, with which Ada talked during the event. The great absent one was the prefect Orest Onofrei (also "guilty" for this event) who was at Gura Humorului then. It’s time for me to end now: this Ada was more a singer or an actress? Or TOO MUCH of both? That’s why we love her, because we don’t know what she is. It’s like that joke with the turtle from Galapagos who got lost in a village from Ardeal. She looks the same (caring her guitar as if it were a bag): like a turtle. May God help her live the long life of a turtle.
