Suceviţa on holiday, under the scepter of the Movileşti

Within a project that has as main aim the promoting of the local tourism, on Saturday and Sunday were organized many culinary contests and degustations, a seminar called “Ecological food in the context of European integration” and outdoors activities.

Suceviţa was again on holiday, on Saturday and Sunday, here taking place the 3rd activity of the project “Suceviţa 400 – under the scepter of the Movileşti”, project financed by the Romanian Government and that has as main aim the promoting of the local tourism.
The events started with the opening of the first edition of the “Mountain Expoaliment” Fair, with the front title “The Forest’s Harvest” and with a seminar that had as theme the ecological food. In the unfolding of these events, there took part: the City Hall and the Local Council from Suceviţa, the Commerce Industry and Agriculture Department and the Prefecture Suceava, having as partners: the County Council, the “Ana” Foundation and the “Juventus” Association.
The project aims at fructifying the tourist potential of the region, using as a brand the famous name of the Movileşti, the ruler Ieremia Movilă being the fonder of the Suceviţa Monastery.

‒ Ecological agriculture, a possibility of developing the mountain region

The fair and the seminar reunited producers around the mountain region of the county, representatives of the public institutions and of the civil society, but also politicians.
Many controversial subjects were discussed, such as: the development of the ecological agriculture, the helping and support of the agricultural producers from the mountain region and methods through which the tourist potential of the village can be better developed.
The mayor of Suceviţa, Ioan Onufrei, declared that he wishes to unfold here national importance events in order to make the village known and famous, to bring more tourists in the region, one of the objectives also being to economically develop the village. The people that took part in the fair could taste and buy ecological food presented by the natives, and during the seminar, the producers told their problems and were advised and helped by the representatives of CCI Suceava, the Agriculture and Rural Development Department and the Public Health Authority.
First of all, the conditions in which an agricultural product can be considered ecological were established and the steps a producer has to follow in order to start up a business with ecological products, products that are looked for all over Europe. The ones that answered the agricultural producers present at the event were: the manager of CCI Suceava – Ovidiu Donţu, specialists of the Agricultural Department – engineer Beatrice Botuşan and doctor Florian Popa, as well as the adjunct manager of ASP Suceava – doctor Alexandru Lăzăreanu.
Senator Tiberiu Prodan, who was also present at the event, announced that he will unfold a project in order to create a modern drainage system in Suceviţa, system that will develop in the future, stating that “the understructure is a very important aspect in the development of the tourism from Bucovina”.
Prodan also stated that there are actions in progress in order to retrocede the Commerce Registry to CCI Suceava, so that the Commerce Room can dispose of funds “which will be given to the cities and villages of the county and with whose help they can help the agricultural producers”.

‒ Concert and joy at the mountain

On Saturday and Sunday evening, the tourists, as well as the natives from Sucevita, have been invited to take part in a concert of music and joy, with well known bands and singers. Warmed up by the music and the traditional bilberry brandy, the spectators have danced Romanian round dances and have sung together with the singers on the stage till late in the night. The ones that have enchanted the listeners were Pamfil Roată, Ştefan Diaconiţa, the “Cetina” Group, the bands „H’ora” and „D’or”, the vocal group “Tradition Keepers”, the singers Narcisa Tcaciuc, Alexandru Recolciuc, Ionela Popescu and Cătălin Brăteanu and the extraordinary concerts of Angelei Rusu and the „Etno” group. The series of manifestations will continue in September, in the 4th stage of the project, with the seminar “Movilesti–reigning family with European looks” and a festival of religious vesper bell music. In December, the “Stephen the Great” Festival of winter traditions will take place at Sucevita.
