Hundreds of children from Suceava celebrated their day under the sign of non-violence

The event from Saturday- the festival of all the children, was a great success, especially that the little ones “expressed themselves in a non – violent manner”, despite the bad weather conditions.

‒ Together with their parents or grandparents, the children faced the rain and joined the organizers, taking part in all sorts of contests, sports races, dancing and singing shows, all the “artists” being rewarded in the end by the organizers and sponsors with many prizes.

‒ The surprise of the event was the concert of the “Fără Zahăr”/ (“No Sugar”) band, which was received with great joy by the little ones.

‒ The artists Ovidiu Bortă – BOA and Sorin Ursan –DELACLIT made “minute” portraits to all the people who walked by and who wanted to be a part of a humanitarian event: a fund raising for two foster homes from Suceava.

“A day under the sign of non-violence”- This was the meĂge from Saturday, the 3rd of June, when hundreds of children from Suceava took part in the event dedicated to International Child’s Day – “This summer comes along with Child’s Day”. Despite the bad, cold and rainy weather that worried the organizers, the children had a lot of fun, expressing themselves in a “non –violent” manner. Around noon, the rain stopped and the events could go on according to the established schedule. Big and small, with or without emotions, and accompanied by their parents and teachers, the children and teenagers from Suceava got up on the stage from the centre of the town to recite poems, to sing and dance, receiving many applauses from the audience. Encouraged by the presenter of the show, Cornel Grosaru, the president of the “Juventus” Association and the main organizer of the event, the children felt very important, like real “artists”. Every “artist-child” that got up on stage was rewarded with presents from the organizers. The program of these manifestations comprised more events: a karting demonstration with kids from the Children’s Palace from Suceava, an artistic show with children from most of the schools from the city, drawing on the pavement contests, rollers and tricycles contests and mini-football and cross competitions. The children who took part in the sports competitions received from the Sports County Department Suceava diplomas, cups, medals, T-shirts, and also presents from the organizers.

‒ “If they want to stop violence, they first have to teach their children to express themselves in a non – violent manner.”

A special moment was the action “Say no to domestic violence” organized in collaboration with the County Police Department. Sociologist Ileana Iacob, sub inspector within IJP Suceava, told us that the entire event from Saturday unfolded under the “sign” of non – violence. “We gave foldings to all the parents who brought their children to the Saturday event and we suggested them, in a way, that, if they want to stop violence, they first have to teach their children to express themselves in a non – violent manner!”. We want to prove that the education our children need mustn’t be made with violence, but with a good personal example”, declared Ileana Iacob. From the studies made so far resulted that within the families with aggressive parents, their children will also become aggressive. That is why, the actions made by the Police Department Suceava, in collaboration with other institutions (the County Education Department, the Child’s Protection Department, the Save the Children Organization and other NGOs) have as main aim the parents’ education, who, in their turn, will have to educate their children in a non-violent environment, without any constraints, in a very civilized manner and through a reciprocal knowledge and communication. “Children will learn from you what respect is, guided by the way in which you treat the others. Respect the others either you are driving, or shopping, or in a restaurant, or at a stadium or at dinner with your family”, is one of the “non –violence” meĂges on the foldings offered to the people that were passing by the organizers of this event.

‒ Over 600 presents and the greatest surprise – “Fără Zahăr”/ “No Sugar” – for the children from Suceava

The organizers of the event from Saturday (the “ANA” Foundation, the “Juventus” Association, the City Hall from Suceava, Radio AS), together with their partners ( the County Police Department, the County Sports Department, the County Education Department, the “Music” Shop, the Children’s Palace) prepared a prize tombola (every half hour they offered prizes, drawing lots and announcing the winner tickets). The prizes consisted in: bicycles, two computer desks, toys etc. The 600 tickets were distributed in the schools and kinder gardens from the city. The organizers also gave over 600 presents (sweets, icecream– from Betty -Ice) to the children present at the event from Saturday. The kids also received balloons, little flags and gifts from the sponsors.
The sponsors of this great event were: BETTY ICE, ROCAST NORD, CALCARUL, OIL-D NEGRU, BIROU NOTARIAL LAURA CARLIGEANU, FOLIA - FARMACIA CENTRALA, RAI 88, LUMY TOOLS, ECUATOR, MOSA MISS, GIVAS, LUMIAX, SOCOM MODIMEX, GAITANO COMPANY, TOP DOLE, PRICHINDEL, ORANGE, NOVA OPTIC, COZA – RUX, ALKA TRADING CO., INSTAL EXPERT, SALONUL DE INFRUMUSETARE WOMEN'S STYLE, EURO TAXI, DAMIENTA, DISCO SYSTEM - MAGAZINUL MUZICA, Mc DONALD'S, PROTOTIP, ROTIL PREST, ASSIST, GRUP MUSATINII and ISTA.
An ”incendiary” moment of the show was the one hour concert of the “Fără Zahăr” band, who was welcomed with joy by the young audience of Suceava. Knowing their humor, original songs, the little ones and youngsters joined the artists of the band and sang together: “6 din 49”, “Caţaua”, “De la sate”...

“A portrait for a smile”

The “Monitorul de Suceava” newspaper organized on Saturday, within the same event, an outside exposition – “Child Smile” - with 40 portraits of the children belonging to the two foster homes from Suceava (“White Fang” and “Hope”), made by the artists Ovidiu Bortă – BOA and Sorin Ursan –DELACLIT. During the entire day, the two cartoonists made the portraits of the people who were passing by, most of whom were children and very anxious to go home with their face drawn on a sheet of paper. For 5 lei, dozens of children wanted to be painted, the money collected from these drawings being donated to the two foster homes. All the paintings from the “Child Smile” exposition will be also donated to those two foster homes.
