THE “ANA” FOUNDATION SETS UP A “NONGOVERNMENTAL CHALLENGE” AT THE BORDER BETWEEN EU AND UKRAINE

Stiri

The year 2008 will be one of great challenges within the nongovernmental sector for the “ANA” Foundation from Suceava, which, for some time, has been successfully unfolding a series of projects with internal and even external financing. Until November 2008 the representatives of some NGOs from Suceava and Chernivtsy will be involved in a project financed by the EU through the CBC PHARE 2005 Program, project that aims at developing the organizational capacity of the nongovernmental sector from the two regions mentioned above, with the purpose of unfolding joint future cross border activity programs.
Under the title “Sustainable development of cross border partnerships”, the project proposes to lay the basis and to create the context neceĂry to the collaboration between the Romanian and Ukrainian NGOs and it will also develop the organizational capacity of the local NGOs.
The organizers of this project are The “ANA” Foundation from Suceava and The “Volunteer” Youth Organization from Chernivtsy. The president of The “ANA” Foundation, Mr. Nelu Todireanu, declared yesterday, within a press conference, that through its activities, the project will act upon the leaders of some NGOs from Suceava and Chernivtsy, in order to train them on the management of human and financial resources in a nongovernmental organization, as well as on the relation NGO- local community. As a result of this project, a KIT of organizational development tools for the local associative sector will also be designed.
“The project proposes to contribute to the acknowledgement of the training needs within the department of human resources, both at the level of the people working in the nongovernmental sector and at the level of the local authorities, who are interested in collaborations with the nongovernmental sector in the field of the cross border cooperation”, added Mr. Nelu Todireanu, explaining towards the end of the conference that “the project will perpetuate the communication background already existent at the level of the two cross border communities and will support the multiplications of the Romanian- Ukrainian cooperation initiatives, as a factor of local development”.
