What is the role of the 2% stipulation in organizations?

 

The 2% stipulation can contribute to the financial viability of an organization and represents a way of attracting funds.

Moreover:

* it can represent an occasion to promote the organization
* it can contribute to the creation of a tighter relation with the community
* it can help the organization in other ways of attracting funds (contributions from individuals)
* it can help the organization in gathering volunteers campaigns
* it can contribute to the organization’s credibility

What does the organization that wants to collect the 2% have to do?

Step 1. Plan!

* What does it want to use the 2% for?
* From whom does it want to collect the 2%?

Step 2. Prepare!

* Is there a person responsible for the 2%?
* Does it have files prepared for the ones that ask for more information?
* Is there someone that can answer efficiently and pertinently to the questions?
* Is there an annual report for the previous year?

Step 3. Work!

* Are you known by the people from whom you want to collect the 2%?
* Do you know what the most efficient ways to get to the target group are?
* What are the most efficient messages for the target group?
* What funds do you have in order to unfold a 2% campaign?
* What volunteers do you have for this 2% campaign?
* Who can help you in this 2% campaign- the media, economic agents in public places, opinion leaders, etc?

Step 4. Ask for 2%!

* Have you asked for the 2% first of all from the ones around you: the members of the organization, employers, the members of the boarding council, beneficiaries, friends, colleagues, sponsors or donors etc.?
* Did you unfold the campaign the way you planned it at the previous step?

Step 5. Evaluation!

* How much did you raise through this method?
* Was the campaign efficient from a financial point of view?
* How did the campaign unfold?
* Do you think you have a better image in the community now?
* How will you inform the people about the results of the campaign?
* How will you inform the people about what you accomplished with the money raised?
* What can you improve?
